NASA astronaut Sunita Williams has left for Earth with her crew member Buch Wilmore, Nick Heg and Russian astronaut Alexander Gorbunov. He will return to Earth on Tuesday after spending nine months in space. His return to be earlier to be held last Wednesday, but it was extended due to weather conditions.
NASA planned to return to ensure safe landing for astronauts after evaluating weather and sea conditions.
The crew had kept a mission to stay at Boeing’s Starlineer spacecraft for seven days. But other technical problems including helium leak made the spacecraft unsafe to their return. As a result, his stay at the International Space Station (ISS) was increased.
The return process started on Monday evening.
The spacecraft is scheduled to be on the coast of splashdown fluorida. After landing, Williams and the crew will be taken to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. There, they will have to undergo a medical evaluation, post -mission information and the recovery protocol to help with the Earth’s gravity again with gravity.
NASA has announced that this return journey will be broadcast live. On Monday, Undocking and Splashdown on Tuesday can be seen on NASA’s official YouTube channel.
