The central government has approved the Chandrayaan-5 mission to ISRO. V Narayanan, president of the Indian Space Research Organization, gave information in this regard.
He said that a 25 kg rover was taken to ‘Prayag Gyan’ in Chandrayaan-3 mission, Chandrayaan-5 will take a 250 kg rover to study the surface of the moon. Narayanan said that the Chandrayaan-5 mission has been approved by the Central Government 4 days ago. This will be done in collaboration with Japan.
The main objective of this mission To study the surface of the moon. Earlier, Chandrayaan-1, who was successfully launched in 2008, did the chemical, minerals and photo-blessings of the moon. The Chandrayaan-2 mission launched in 2019 was 98 percent successful, but only two percent of the mission could be achieved in the final phase. ISRO then successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 mission, in which Lander Vikram successfully performed ‘soft -landing’ at the southern pole of the moon on 23 August 2023.
When will it be launched Chandrayaan-4 Mission:
Chandrayaan-4 mission, is likely to be launched in 2027, its purpose is to bring samples collected from the moon. Discussing ISRO’s future plans, Narayanan said that apart from various upcoming missions like Gaganyaan, efforts are being made to set up India’s own space station, which will be named Indian Space Station.
