Delhi Capitals have made Indian all -rounder Akshar Patel captain for the upcoming 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Akshar will replace Rishabh Pant, because now he will captain the Lucknow Super Giants this season.
According to the agency report, 31 -year -old Akshar Patel played a key role in the victory of India’s Champions Trophy.

Akshar has been associated with Delhi Capitals since 2019. Akshar is also the longest living player in the team. Akshar has scored 967 runs in 82 matches with Delhi and has taken 62 wickets at an economy rate of about seven.
In the last IPL season, Akshar scored 235 runs at an average of around 30 and took 11 wickets at an economy rate of 7.65. He has played 150 matches of the total IPL.
The team of Delhi Capitals consists of experienced players like KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Faf du Plessis and Mitchell Starc. This time everyone will be eyeing the captaincy of Akshar, because the entire team is in their hands.
