This provision was passed after the meeting of the Thai Football Federation (FAT) and the General Department of Sports of Thailand (SAT). Thus, coach Kim Sang-Sik will not be able to use players who are too old in the U.22 Vietnam team.
Participants will not be allowed to use additional U.22+3 additional capacity applied in many previous SEA Games. The Organizing Committee of the host country said that this decision was evaluated to ensure sustainable development and create opportunities for young talents to have more opportunities to rub and develop, and create a public playground.
