On behalf of VFF leaders, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu sent New Year’s greetings to Xuan Son, and encouraged this player to maintain recovery training when returning home to celebrate Tet with his family. Mr. Phu affirmed that VFF and Vinmec International General Hospital will coordinate closely with the coaching staff and doctors at the team and club to create the best conditions for the male striker during the recovery process.
Xuan Son, the hero who contributed greatly to bringing home the regional crown for Vietnamese football at the 2024 AFF Cup, suffered a serious injury in the second leg of the final against the Thai team. After a burst of speed and an attempt to pass the ball, he landed in the wrong position and had to leave the field in pain. Examination results determined that he had broken his fibula and tibia, requiring a complex surgery.
Sharing about Xuan Son’s treatment, Vinmec hospital doctors said he is currently recovering well and actively. Doctors will design a home training plan and closely monitor the recovery process to ensure this striker’s ability to return to practice and play. Xuan Son will be discharged from the hospital and continue his recovery process at home from tomorrow (January 24).
