The 2025 Asian women’s futsal tournament qualifying round has ended. In the final match of Group D on January 19, the Vietnamese women’s futsal team had a dramatic 2-2 draw against equally talented opponent Taiwan. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang’s team passed the qualifying round with an undefeated record (2 wins, 1 draw). Before that, Vietnamese girls defeated Myanmar 5-1 and Macau 21-0.
The Vietnamese women’s futsal team continues with first place in Group D, with the same 7 points as Taiwan, but better than the opponent in terms of goal difference (25 vs 22). Vietnam is also the first team in Southeast Asia to win tickets to play in the 2025 Asian women’s futsal finals.
The remaining teams that will compete in the 2025 Asian women’s futsal finals include: China, Thailand, Iran, Japan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Philippines, Australia. In particular, China (host) and the two teams that reached the finals of the previous tournament, Iran and Japan, were given special exemptions without qualifying.
The Thai and Indonesian women’s futsal teams both had a winning record in the qualifying round. “War Elephants” won all 4 matches in Group A (with 5 teams). Meanwhile, the island team won all 3 matches in Group B. The Philippines won the last ticket in Group C, moving on as the 3rd best team in the qualifying round.
The finals of the 2025 Asian women’s futsal tournament have 12 teams participating. Accordingly, the Vietnamese women’s futsal team is in seed group number 2. The draw for the finals will take place in China on February 7.
At the 2025 Asian Women’s Futsal Finals, 12 teams are divided equally into 3 groups, playing in a round-robin format to calculate ranking points. The first and second place teams in each group, along with the two third-place teams with the best records, will continue to play in the quarter-finals.
The 2025 Asian Women’s Futsal Finals is also the qualifying round of the 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup (held for the first time). Accordingly, the 3 teams with the best results at the 2025 Asian women’s futsal finals will participate in the World Cup.
