After 2 matches in Group D – qualifying round for the 2025 Asian women’s futsal tournament, the Vietnamese women’s futsal team has a winning record. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang’s team won 5-1 against Myanmar, before defeating Macau with a strong score of 21-0. Similarly, Taiwan’s women’s futsal team also had 2 victories (18-0 against Macau, 4-0 against Myanmar).
In Group D, the two names that will win tickets to participate in the final round of the 2025 Asian women’s futsal tournament have been determined one round early. The Vietnamese and Taiwanese women’s futsal teams continue together.
Currently, the Vietnamese women’s futsal team ranks first in Group D (6 points, difference +25), the Taiwan team ranks second (6 points, difference +22), the Myanmar team ranks third (0 points, difference -8 ), Macau team ranked last (0 points, difference -39).
Thus, the match between the Vietnamese and Taiwanese women’s futsal teams at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon (January 19) will decide which team will enter the final round with first place in Group D. Before this important match , the Vietnamese women’s futsal team has an advantage, surpassing Taiwan in terms of goal difference (25 compared to 22). Therefore, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang’s team only needs a draw to win top spot in Group D.
The 2025 Asian women’s futsal qualifying round kicks off on January 11, 2025, with 18 teams competing. Three teams are exempt from qualifying, including the host of the final round (VCK) – China, and the two finalists of the previous tournament including Japan and Iran.
18 teams are divided into four groups, including 2 groups of 4 teams (Groups B and D), 2 groups of 5 teams (Groups A and C). Group A plays in Thailand, Group B in Indonesia, Group C in Uzbekistan and Group D in Myanmar. After the qualifying round, each group selects the first and second teams to participate in the finals. Along with that, the 3rd ranked team with the best performance will attend the finals in May 2025.
