In his final foreign policy speech at the US State Department on January 13, Mr. Biden praised his administration’s foreign policy achievements and predicted challenges ahead, including wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, according to p Axios.
President Biden said that the US is “winning in global competition”, not being surpassed economically by China as predicted, while other competitors are affected by conflicts. He emphasized that Washington has maintained a complex relationship with Beijing and has not escalated relations into conflict after four years.
“My administration has left the successor administration with a strong advantage, leaving America with many stronger friends and allies, while our adversaries are weaker and under pressure,” Mr. Biden said.
The US leader urged progress toward building a fair and lasting peace for Ukraine. Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Mr. Biden noted that he is on the verge of being able to establish a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. He defended his support and provided tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine over the past three years and supported Israel in the conflict in the Middle East.
