Sullivan’s visit to India follows Jaishankar’s six-day visit to the US and is the outgoing Biden administration’s last high-profile visit to New Delhi before the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States on January 20.

During Sullivan’s visit, both sides discussed strengthening the India-US strategic relationship and are expected to assess the results achieved during the tenure of President Biden.
Later, Sullivan is scheduled to hold discussions with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The two are expected to focus on the implementation of the iCET, which is seen as one of the key initiatives under the Biden administration to enhance India-US strategic cooperation.
Let us tell you that ICET, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Biden in May 2022, aims to promote cooperation in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology and defense innovation, which will be an important step in the bilateral relations between the two countries.
