Gangapuri Maharaj, who has not bathed for 32 years, has become the center of attraction at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Gangapuri Maharaj is also known as Chhotu Baba. He is from Kamakhya Peeth of Assam. Baba told ANI on Friday, “This is a meeting fair. There should be a soul to soul connection and that is why I am here.”
The 57-year-old Maharaj has become the center of attraction in the Maha Kumbh Mela due to his height of three feet. He said, “I am 3 feet 8 inches tall. I am 57 years old. I am very happy to be here. You guys are also here, I am happy about that too.”
Gangapuri Maharaj has not taken bath for the last 32 years and said, “I do not take bath because I have a wish which has not been fulfilled in the last 32 years. I will not bathe in the Ganga.”
Mahakumbh is being celebrated after 12 years and a huge crowd of devotees is expected in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26. To prevent accidents, the district administration is taking important steps to ensure the safety of devotees, especially for crowd management and to avoid fire incidents.
