Especially in cities of western Uttar Pradesh like Agra, Meerut, Noida, and Ghaziabad, schools will remain closed till December 31.
Managers and principals of UP Board, CBSE and ICSE schools have been instructed to declare a special holiday. Along with this, holiday has been declared in all the schools of Basic Education Department from 31st December to 14th January.
Half-yearly examinations were held in primary schools from 23 December to 28 December. Teachers have also given a good amount of homework to the students for the winter vacation. On the other hand, considering the weather conditions, doctors are advising to take special precautions with children. Teachers will also be on leave. In secondary schools, schools will remain open due to pre-board, practical and board examinations of children from classes 9 to 12.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no respite from the severe cold in the next 48 hours. The reason for this is the fresh snowfall in the hilly areas. The wind coming through there has increased the melting. Due to cold wave, all the schools of Secondary Education Department will remain closed on 31st December.
