North India is in the grip of cold and the temperature is falling in many states. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius, with a light layer of fog seen in some parts of the national capital. The minimum temperature on Monday was 8 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature reached 20 degrees Celsius.
Residents of the national capital were seen lighting bonfires to brave the cold, while others took shelter in night shelters as temperatures continued to drop in Delhi.
Cold weather continues in Rajasthan, due to which the falling temperature is greatly affecting daily life. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the temperature in Bikaner was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius. Cold weather in Jammu and Kashmir is affecting the daily life of people and the temperature has gone below zero in many areas. The temperature in Srinagar was recorded at -5.2 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am on Tuesday. Other temperatures recorded included -0.6 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg, -6.8 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam, -0.8 degrees Celsius in Banihal and -4.6 degrees Celsius in Kupwara.
