Quang Hai and Thanh Chung practice separately in Singapore, Doan Ngoc Tan returns, Xuan Son is fit

The Vietnamese team practiced for the first time on a natural grass field

The Vietnamese team started their journey from Hanoi to Singapore from the morning of December 23. After half a day of traveling, coach Kim Sang-sik’s team arrived at the private island and settled down. On the evening of the same day, the Vietnamese boys put on their shoes and took to the field for their first practice session in Singapore, to prepare for the first leg of the semi-finals of the AFF Cup 2024, taking place at 8:00 p.m. on December 26 (Vietnam time).

In Singapore, the Vietnamese team practiced for the first time at Bishan Stadium – home of Lion City Sailor Club. Bishan Stadium is quite modern, with beautiful natural grass and high-capacity lights. After the journey made the players quite tired, the coaching staff only let the Vietnamese team practice relaxation exercises and ghost kicks. Later in the training session, coach Kim Sang-sik asked the entire team to practice tactics and movement.

Nguyen Quang Hai and Nguyen Thanh Chung had to practice separately on the first day of practice in Singapore. However, Hai and Chung did not encounter any serious problems. It is known that these two players both played with high intensity in the match against Myanmar on December 21, so they need more time to reach their best condition.

The good news for the Vietnamese team is that midfielder Doan Ngoc Tan has returned to practice with the whole team. In the match against Myanmar, the midfielder of Thanh Hoa Club was not included in the registration list.

In the first training session, the Vietnamese team practiced on natural grass field. But in the upcoming training sessions, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will likely practice on artificial turf, in order to have the best adaptation for the semi-final first leg. Because on December 26, the Singapore team will welcome Vietnam on the artificial turf field Jalan Besar.
