According to statistics from Radio Rossiya-24, the most popular form of people sending questions is still the phone, with more than 1.1 million calls to the direct line. In addition, more than 477,000 question messages were sent.
Top issues of interest to Russians among the questions submitted included healthcare, roads, housing, utilities and social media payments. The special military campaign in Ukraine is also an issue of high concern.
In 2023, Moscow received more than 2.8 million questions and concerns from people to President Putin. Previously, the press conference and Q&A session were two separate events but were combined in 2020 and this is the third time it has been held in this combined format. Since 2001, Q&A sessions have been held 18 times, while year-end press conferences have been held 16 times, not including times when two events were combined.
