On the Central Government’s eagerness to bring ‘One Nation One Election’, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “This is not the wish of the government but this is the wish of the people of the country. How many times do you and we have to face the fact that every month there is an election somewhere, every month somewhere the code of conduct is implemented… People have hope and desire that this wastage of money should be stopped…”
He said that “The Prime Minister is working to realize the hopes and aspirations of the people of the country. Be it the issue of removal of Article 370, be it the issue of ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’, be it the issue of women’s reservation in Parliament or the issue of ‘One Nation, One Election’. The Prime Minister is laying such a foundation that many generations to come will remember this tenure. The ideology of taking the country forward rapidly from a turning point will remain an example for the entire world.”
Also targeting Congress on the EVM issue, the Union Minister said, “If Congress is raising questions regarding EVM, then Congress should see the reaction of Samajwadi Party and TMC. When will the Congress understand that the path it has adopted is neither the path that the people of the country want nor the path that the opposition alliance partners want? Now the condition of Congress has become such that not only the people of the country have left them but also the INDI alliance partners are leaving their hands and abandoning them. We and you do not need to say anything to the Congress because the people of the country are telling the Congress, the people of Haryana and Maharashtra have told the Congress. “The parties within the INDI alliance are telling the Congress to ‘wake up now from the sleep of Kumbhkaran’.”
