Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh started discussion on the Constitution in Lok Sabha.

Let us tell you that the next two days are going to be very important for the Lok Sabha. Because the Constitution is to be discussed on 13 and 14 December. Meanwhile, today i.e. on 13th December, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has started the discussion on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha. Let us tell you that this debate has been organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution.

During this, the Union Minister said that “We the people of India adopted the Constitution on 26 November 1949… I heartily congratulate this House and all the citizens of the country on the occasion of completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution… I can say I believe that our Constitution paves the way for nation building by touching all aspects of social, economic, political and cultural life…”
He said, “Our Constitution has introduced us to Indianness. The picture of Lord Shri Ram, Mother Sitaji and Laxmanji is also mentioned in Part 3 of the original copy of our Constitution. An impression of the painting of Ajanta caves is visible on the front page of the original copy. There is also a lotus flower. This shows that an independent nation has emerged from centuries of slavery. The carved figures show the rich history and great tradition.”
He said “We all accept the role of the Supreme Court as the guardian and interpreter of the Constitution. Today there is talk of protecting the Constitution. This is the duty of all of us. But we also have to understand who has respected the Constitution and who has insulted it..”
“Without naming Congress, he said that a party tried to hijack the process of constitution making. He said that our Constitution is not the contribution of any one party. It is a document written by the people of India, for the people of India. There is a concept of night watchman state in western civilization. This means that the responsibility of the government should be limited to providing security to the people. There has been talk of Rajdharma in our country. Here even the king is bound by Rajdharma. His powers are for the welfare of the people. To protect the weaker sections. Our Constitution is committed to the welfare of the citizens. Our Constitution directs the removal of obstacles coming in the way of overall development of the citizens.”
