There was improvement in air quality in the national capital on Monday and it remained at 273 percent i.e. in ‘poor’ category. According to Central Pollution Board data, 188 AQI was recorded in Chandni Chowk, 266 in Alipur, 264 in Aya Nagar and 227 in DTU area.
Let us tell you that in many areas of Delhi, AQI is being recorded in ‘very poor’ category. The AQI was 303 in Anand Vihar, 307 in Dwarka Sector 8 and 310 in Jahangirpuri.
However, despite the improvement in air quality, residents of the city complained of breathlessness and demanded action from the government.
A local said, “The pollution situation in the city is very bad. The government should take initiative to close down all the old vehicles in the city and make all the classes online. This is affecting children and the elderly. Now the construction work should also be stopped.”
