On Friday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the residence and office of businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra in Mumbai as part of a money laundering investigation related to the pornographic film network case. According to officials, the agency is also searching the properties of Kundra’s associates.
Kundra was arrested in June 2021 for allegedly making obscene films. After spending two months in jail, he was granted bail in September 2021.
Mumbai Police officials have said that Kundra was the primary conspirator in this case. The network was exposed after the Mumbai Police busted a pornography racket in February 2021, which led to the arrest of five people. Further investigation resulted in four additional arrests over time.
According to details of the case, aspiring models and actors were lured with the promise of film roles, but were forced to participate in pornographic films. Shooting usually took place in rented bungalows or apartments in Mumbai.
