November 26, 2008 is such a dark day for the country that the people of India will hardly be able to forget. On this day a terrible terrorist attack took place in Mumbai. This was one of the biggest terrorist attacks in the history of independent India. In this attack, 166 people including 18 security personnel were killed and more than 300 people were injured. The terrorists had targeted the Taj Hotel in Mumbai, one of the safest places in the country.

On this occasion, many leaders of the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the attack. during this time Many stalwarts including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi paid tribute.

Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, acting CM Eknath Shinde, former Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also reached Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office and paid tribute to the martyrs.

Let us tell you, the 26/11 attacks shook Mumbai when Pakistani terrorists attacked major places of Mumbai like Taj Hotel, Oberoi Trident Hotel, CST Railway Station and Nariman House. 166 innocent people were killed and hundreds were injured in this attack. Indian security forces and police killed the attackers by risking their lives. Of these, security forces were successful in capturing one Ajmal Kasab alive. Who was given death sentence on 21 November 2012 after a long trial.
