This is the 75th year of the adoption of the Constitution of India. Tuesday marked 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution. On this occasion, a special program of Constitution Day was organized in Constitution House. President Draupadi Murmu released a postage stamp on the occasion of completion of 75 years of the Constitution of India in the Constituent Assembly and also released a special coin of Rs 75.

In his address on Constitution Day, President Draupadi Murmu said, “In the last few years, the government has taken many steps for the welfare of all sections of the society, especially the weaker sections. The poor are getting their own houses and world-class infrastructure is being developed in the country.. He further said, our Constitution is a living and progressive document. Through our Constitution we have achieved the goals of social justice and inclusive development…”
The President addressed the members of both the Houses of Parliament on the occasion of ‘Constitution Day’ on Tuesday 26 November. He said that the Constitution is the most sacred book of our country. Today we all have become participants and witnesses of this historic occasion. The President said that 75 years ago, on this very day, in the same central hall of the Constituent Assembly, the Constituent Assembly had completed the huge task of drafting the Constitution for the newly independent country. The President said that on that day we the people of India had adopted our Constitution through the Constituent Assembly. Our Constitution ensures our individual and collective self-respect.
It is noteworthy that the winter session of Parliament has started from Monday 25th November. According to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, this session will continue till December 20 next month. On the second day of the session i.e. on 26th November, a joint meeting of both the sessions was called to celebrate the Constitution Day.
