GRAP-4 restrictions will continue in Delhi-NCR, Supreme Court took the decision, said this on opening of schools and colleges
The Supreme Court on Monday once again showed strictness regarding pollution in Delhi-NCR. According to the court, currently the restrictions of GRAP 4 will remain in force in Delhi-NCR. At the same time, regarding the opening of schools, the Supreme Court has directed that the Air Quality Management Committee should decide by tomorrow whether schools can be opened or education will be online only. The next hearing will be held on Thursday (November 28) at 3.30 pm.
Let us tell you that due to the closure of schools due to pollution, many students lack lunch and infrastructure to attend online classes. At the same time, the court also refused to relax the restrictions of Group-4.
SC has asked the Air Quality Management Commission to take appropriate punitive action against all the authorities. The court said that all the authorities have failed in banning the entry of trucks in Delhi under Group 4. The court has asked the Air Quality Management Commission to take action against the responsible officials of the Section NCR State Government, Transport Commissioner of NCR, Police Commissioner/Traffic Police officers.
Along with this, the court said that until the court is satisfied itself that the level of pollution is decreasing, it cannot consider coming down from Group-3. The court said that we also have to see that due to the construction work that has stopped due to Grape-4, the workers are not getting wages. For that, all the states should help them with the money collected under labor cess. The data that has come out from 20th to 23rd November has shown that the pollution level in Delhi and NCR during this period has been between 300 to 419.
