Survey of Shahi Jama Masjid completed amidst uproar in Sambhal, heavy police force was deployed
Today once again a survey of Shahi Jama Masjid was conducted in Sambhal, UP. The survey team has reached at 6 in the morning. During this time heavy police force was deployed on the spot. However, during this time, a ruckus was also seen outside the mosque and suddenly stones were pelted at the police team. To control the situation, the police released tear gas shells and had to resort to lathicharge on some people.

Apart from DM-SP, SDM-CO and PAC-RRF were deployed on the spot. Let us tell you that a large number of police have been deployed in the area since this morning. The survey team has already left from Shahi Jama Masjid. The police administration has taken out the survey team through a safe route.
Sambhal SP Krishna Kumar said, “As per the court order, survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal district was to be conducted… Some people gathered in protest against the survey and started pelting stones at the time of the survey. Police retaliated on this… Some vehicles of sub-inspectors parked near the premises of Jama Masjid were set on fire… At present law and order is under control. Peace and order prevail everywhere. Duty is being deployed again…Survey has been completed successfully…”

Actually, it has been claimed that this mosque of Sambhal has been constructed by demolishing a temple. On this, a court in Sambhal district had issued an order to survey the mosque. After which the survey was completed on Sunday after huge uproar. Petitioner advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain said that the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) gave instructions to constitute ‘Advocate Commission’ for the survey of Jama Masjid. The court has said that a videography and photography survey should be conducted through the commission and the report should be filed in the court. He had said, “Harihar temple in Sambhal is the center of our faith. According to our religious beliefs, the incarnation of Kalki from Dashavatar is to take place from here.
Babar tried to demolish the temple and convert it into a mosque in 1529. This is an ASI protected area. There cannot be any kind of encroachment in it.” Vishnu Shankar Jain had said, ”There are many marks and signs there which belong to the Hindu temple. Keeping all these things in mind, the court had issued this order.
