In a rapidly evolving world of work, HP is leading the transformation by integrating artificial intelligence into its solutions. Focused on improving user experience and business continuity, HP provides advanced technologies and remote collaboration tools. This commitment extends to employee well-being and fulfillment, ensuring the growth and innovation needed for a sustainable future in business. Giampiero Savorelli, CEO of HP Italy tells Adnkronos Tech&Games about strategies and innovation in the HP vision.
HP’s 2024 Work Relationship Index highlights that using AI can improve employees’ relationship with work. What strategies is HP adopting to integrate AI into its solutions and help companies reap the benefits in terms of employee well-being and productivity?
The 2024 edition of the HP Work Relationship Index illustrates how the expectations of companies and employees are constantly evolving and often do not coincide. On the one hand, businesses have growth and development objectives, with challenges of productivity, effectiveness and efficiency in IT management, as well as a focus on the security of data, documents and devices. On the other hand, employees and professionals have growing demands for flexibility, greater customization and the desire for professional and personal fulfillment. Two thirds of those interviewed expressed the need for ‘personalised’ work experiences – a theme particularly felt by the new generations, who place this as one of the ‘value’ aspects in the evaluation phase of a work opportunity.
The study also highlights how the use of AI has grown from 38% to 66% in the last year. In fact, those interviewed consider artificial intelligence as a key enabler for simplifying daily work (73%), for opening up new opportunities for professional growth (68%) and as an element for improving work-life balance (60%).
In this context, intelligent technology plays a fundamental role and represents an opportunity for both parties: it not only allows you to face new business challenges, but also facilitates a more personalized and rewarding user experience. This, in turn, fuels innovation, creativity and business growth, unlocking the game-changing potential of artificial intelligence.
These are also central elements in HP’s Future of Work vision.
In a rapidly evolving technology landscape, how does HP see the future of work and what role will AI and smart technologies play in supporting both businesses and employees in achieving their goals?
HP is helping organizations and professionals in this transformation by offering innovative solutions and secure, integrated PC and printing devices, remote collaboration tools and artificial intelligence-based technologies that improve the user experience and facilitate business continuity. Attention to employee well-being and fulfillment represents a further key element to ensure not only the sustainability of the business, but also growth and innovation in an ever-evolving world of work.
How do you see the evolution of corporate PCs with the integration of on-device AI and what implications will this have on working methods in Italian companies? In the context of hybrid working, what solutions does HP offer to improve collaboration and productivity of remote teams, considering Poly solutions?
As HP, we continue to innovate the PC and printing portfolio, with the aim of offering Italian companies the ‘unique’ and transversal value of HP solutions and skills designed for the hybrid world and the future of work.
During the HP Imagine global event, HP announced new features across all segments: next-generation AI PCs, AI-enabled video conferencing solutions, and a scalable GPU performance sharing solution for developers AI and new video conferencing solutions HP Poly.
In printing, HP Print AI represents the first intelligent printing experience, designed to simplify the way you print, from set-up to support. We also presented workforce solutions designed to enable companies to grow by offering employees personalized technology experiences.
Products like the ZBook Fury G11 and OMEN 35L offer advanced AI performance for professionals and gamers. How does HP see the role of AI in the future of professional content creation and gaming?
For HP, artificial intelligence is a transformative force that will profoundly change the landscape of professional content creation and gaming, posing new challenges and opportunities. With the introduction of advanced workstations like the ZBook Fury G11 and OMEN 35L, HP is responding to these emerging needs by offering tools specifically designed to integrate and harness the potential of AI.
At this historical moment there are three types of AI users and each of these requires adequate hardware solutions: compared to a simple user of artificial intelligence as a tool to simplify their tasks or to automate repetitive tasks, the creators of content (e.g. videos, edit photographs), developers of solutions based on artificial intelligence and data scientists, who, starting from company data, carry out cleaning and filtering operations to train the AI models.
HP workstations, like the ZBook Fury G11, equipped with the latest generation NVIDIA RTX GPUs, offer the power needed to operate smoothly and quickly in advanced AI environments, allowing you to speed up production and guarantee high performance.
In the gaming sector, AI is taking a central role in optimizing gaming experiences. HP’s OMEN 35L, equipped with powerful hardware, is designed not only to offer superior performance in terms of frame rate and resolution, but also to integrate AI technologies capable of improving the real-time gaming experience, such as in optimizing system resources and customizing game parameters based on individual preferences.
HP therefore sees artificial intelligence as a fundamental element in the future of workstations and gaming, meeting the needs of a variety of users, from creatives to developers of AI solutions, through advanced hardware solutions and dedicated software.
Sustainability is a recurring theme in new HP products, with the use of recycled materials and environmental certifications. How does this commitment fit into HP’s global strategy and what goals do you have to reduce environmental impact in the near future?
As I often say, HP started operating sustainably a long time ago. In 1957 the concept of sustainability was already part of the objectives of our corporation, founded in 1939. Today this commitment is recognized annually by important third-party bodies in the sector, such as CDP and Ecovadis. Over time, HP’s approach to sustainability has evolved in parallel with the company, following trends and major global issues. Today our vision focuses on three main areas: climate action, human rights and digital equity and the various activities are structured with objectives in direct support of at least 8 “UN SDGs”, i.e. the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and of the 2030 Agenda. Concretely, in the context of climate action, the design of PC and printing products and their circularity represent key elements of our commitment. HP, in fact, studies and invests in the use of recycled materials – classic, but also innovative, for example ocean bound plastic (i.e. recovered from the ‘risk’ of ending up in the ocean, ed.), used coffee beans, nets fishing.
As the use of AI increases among workers, concerns about security and privacy are also emerging. How does HP address these challenges in its solutions, such as HP Wolf Security and advanced data protection features?
Cyber security is a topic that continues to be a priority on the agenda of IT managers and which – even more so in the hybrid context – has significant impacts in the event of an attack on PC and printing devices. As highlighted in HP’s latest Threat Insight report, threats are constantly evolving and hackers are using generative AI for increasingly sophisticated attacks, such as writing malicious code.
The HP Wolf Security portfolio offers a set of advanced, multi-layered technologies for the cyber protection of endpoint PC and printing devices, responding to the complex security challenges that organizations face today, helping to mitigate risks and improving operational efficiency and productivity. Our solutions can support both large enterprises with dedicated IT teams and complex security requirements, as well as small businesses with limited IT resources.
I am thinking, for example, of the importance of always protecting the company’s sensitive data, in any situation, even in the event of loss or theft: HP Wolf Protect & Trace is a solution capable of tracking, blocking and remotely deleting a device remotely, even if turned off or offline.
