Delhi wrapped in smog, GRAP-4 restrictions imposed, all schools closed except class 10-12
The threat of pollution is increasing day by day in Delhi-NCR. These days the national capital is turning into a gas chamber. People are facing a lot of difficulties in breathing. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality here has reached ‘severe’ category. The situation is that the government has now implemented the restrictions of GRAP-4. Which became effective from 8 am today.

Along with this, according to the order issued by the government, schools have been closed for all students except classes 10th and 12th from today i.e. Monday, now their classes will be taken online.
AQI reaches serious category, GRAP-4 restrictions come into effect
The average air quality index (AQI) in Delhi on Sunday was 457, which is in the severe category. In view of this, the Central Sub-Committee Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) called an emergency meeting for GREP operation in Delhi-NCR and decided to implement GREP-4. The situation was such that the average AQI in Delhi which was 441 at 4 pm, increased to 457 by 7 pm due to adverse weather conditions, which falls in the very serious category. Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) reached close to 441 on Sunday. This is the highest AQI of this season, which is in the severe category.
Visibility reduced due to mist and fog, airport issued advisory
At the same time, due to increasing cold and pollution, there was mist and fog at many places due to which visibility remained very low. The minimum visibility was recorded at 500 meters between 8.30 am and 9 am. After this it increased to 600 meters at 9.30. At the same time, the lowest visibility recorded at Safdarjung Airport from 7 am to 9 am was 300 meters, which later improved to 400 meters at 9:30 am. The airport also issued an advisory regarding this. Low visibility process is going on here at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are currently normal.
