Pension rule changes for retiring government employees:There is news of work for the employees retiring from central government jobs. Now they will have to fill online form 6A for pension. This new rule related to pension process is applicable in the country from 6 November 2024. New Single Pension Form 6-A for pension can be filled by retiring employees through Bhavishya or e-HRMS portal. From now on, applications submitted on paper by employees retiring from Central Government jobs will not be accepted. This information has been given in a notification issued by the Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare Department under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions of the Government of India.
Earlier pension application forms could be filled on paper. But now the employees retiring from central government jobs will have to fill the online pension form for pension. This new rule is part of a big step to digitalize government processes.

Pension forms can be filled through these portals
According to the issued notification, this new single form 6-A is being made available on Bhavishya and e-HRMS 2.0 portal from November 6 for the employees retiring from central government jobs. These online portals have been created to make the pension process simpler and more effective. Under this change, training has to be given to the concerned officers to run the pension process smoothly and training sessions are to be organized for the same.

These sessions will help Heads of Offices (HoOs) and nodal officers to understand how to use the new system. The schedule of the training program will be shared soon. All government ministries and departments have been directed to ensure that this new rule reaches all employees and that everyone follows the new procedure for pension claims.
