Apple today presented the new line of MacBook Pro, updated with the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. The new models, available in 14 and 16-inch formats, promise significantly improved performance compared to the previous generation, with particular attention to energy efficiency and artificial intelligence. Made with second-generation 3-nanometer technology, the M4 chips stand out for their high CPU performance, both single-threaded and multi-threaded, and their advanced GPU. The architecture is optimized for AI, thanks to built-in machine learning accelerators and a faster Neural Engine. Unified memory, with higher bandwidth, allows you to smoothly handle large language models and complex projects.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip offers up to 1.8 times better performance than the previous model with M1 chip in tasks such as photo editing and 3D rendering. Models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips are aimed at professionals that require even more computing power for intensive workflows, such as 3D modeling, scientific data analysis and software development. Battery life reaches up to 24 hours, a record for a Mac.
New features include a Liquid Retina XDR display with new optional nano-texture glass to reduce reflections and up to 1,000 nits of brightness for SDR content. The FaceTime HD camera has been updated to 12MP and integrates the Center Stage function to keep the user in the center of the frame during video calls. Models with the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips introduce Thunderbolt 5 technology for data transfer speeds of up to 120 Gbps.
With macOS Sequoia debuts Apple Intelligence, an integrated artificial intelligence system that offers new features for writing, communication and creative expression. System-level Writing Tools allow you to improve texts with rewriting, proofreading and summarizing functions. Siri has been redesigned for smoother interaction and, starting in December, will integrate ChatGPT to answer complex questions and provide personalized information. The new MacBook Pro can be pre-ordered starting today and will be available starting November 8th. The 14″ MacBook Pro with M4 chip starts at €1,949. Models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips start at €2,499 and €2,999 respectively.
