G 24 Hours Digital Bureau: More than 100 people were killed and 150 injured when a fire broke out at a wedding ceremony in Hamdania district of Nineveh province, Iraq. In this incident, the Civil Defense is continuing to search for charred remains in a house till Wednesday morning.
Nineveh’s deputy governor, Hassan al-Alak, said 113 people had been confirmed dead. State media put the death toll at at least 100 and 150 injured.

Local civil defense said a fire broke out in a large event hall in the northeastern region after fireworks were set off during the ceremony, state media reported.
34-year-old Imad Yohana managed to escape from the spot. He said, ‘Those of us who managed to get out saw the fire while coming out of the hall. Even those who made their way are broken’.
A video showed firefighters climbing over the charred remains of the home.

Initial information revealed that the bar was made of highly flammable construction materials. As a result, it is said that the house was quickly demolished.
Federal Iraqi authorities and Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region sent ambulances and medical crews to the scene, according to an official statement.
Witnesses at the scene said that the house caught fire at 10.45 pm local time. Hundreds of people were present during the incident.
