Between playing the first protagonist of his career in a film or betting his chips on a charismatic secondary character in the seven o’clock soap opera, Micael Borges, 34, chose the second option. He thanked for the invitation to the feature (which he does not say the name because he thinks it would be impolite of him) and chose to be part of the cast of “Fuzuê”, a plot by Gustavo Reiz that premiered last Monday (14).
In the soap opera, she is Jefinho Sem Vergonha, an app driver and aspiring singer who has been bringing Micael an experience he has been enjoying a lot: doing comedy.
“It’s very nice”, says the actor, who in 2001 moved the country in a disturbing scene of “Cidade de Deus”, in 2001 —the one in which two children from the favela have to choose where to be shot with a pistol by the gang of drug dealer Zé Pequeno (Leandro Firmino).
Micael also had a remarkable passage through “Malhação”, in 2009, when he became the first black protagonist of the teen soap opera. Since then, he has been successful as Pedro, in “Rebelde”, on Record, and in 2018 he returned to Globo. He was Laércio, a character who lived a romance with Carmen, played by Christiane Torloni.
Now, on his return to the station, what he wants most is to live and enjoy the “good side” that a funny and tough character like Jefinho can provide him. “The public identifies, even with him doing some silly things. I see that and I’m betting all my chips”.
The fact that he is an app driver who dreams of becoming a successful country singer unites the character with the interpreter, who also has a musical side. In real life, he is one of the founders of the group Melanina Carioca and, to live the candidate for sertanejo star, he started to include classics from the country songbook and suffering in his playlists.
Micael has been enjoying absolutely everything about Jefinho, who drags a truck for the girl, Luna (Giovana Cordeiro) and has an extravagant wardrobe: he is invariably wearing tight-fitting pants and sleeveless shirts, which leave his muscular arms in plain view. . “He’s vibrant, hard-nosed. High,” says the actor.
