50 thousand crores will be earned… BCCI issued tender for IPL media rights

Mumbai: The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) on Tuesday floated the media rights tender for the 2023-2027 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is expected to earn Rs 50,000 crore. Board secretary Jay Shah said that for the first time in IPL history, the BCCI will arrange e-auction for the new bidders and it will start from June 12.

Shah tweeted, “With two new teams, more matches, more venues and more associations, we want to take the IPL to newer and greater heights.” “I have no doubt that this process will not only generate maximum revenue but also maximize its importance,” he said. Which will benefit Indian cricket immensely.

Disney Plus Hostar is the only live streaming platform of IPL in India. With the inclusion of the Gujarat and Lucknow franchises, the number of IPL matches has increased from 60 to 74. Due to which there is likely to be fierce bidding competition in the auction as the segment now also includes Zee-Sony and Reliance Viacom18.
