The number of people who lost their lives in the second wave of corona in Madhya Pradesh can be much more than the government figures. The total number of deaths recorded in the Civil Registration System (CRS) during the Corona peak this year is four times more than the number of deaths recorded during this period in the last two years.
According to the report of NDTV, journalist Rukmani had first accessed this system and told about this difference.
According to the Civil Registration System, there was an average of 59,000 deaths in Madhya Pradesh in the two-month period of April-May in 2018 and 2019. But in this period in 2021, there were 2.3 lakh deaths during the peak of the second wave of the corona. Meaning four times more deaths, a total of 1.74 lakh additional people lost their lives. Of these additional deaths, 1.3 lakh deaths occurred in May.
But the government data of Madhya Pradesh says that only 4100 people died in these two months due to corona. The government figures of Corona are only a very small part of the additional deaths that have occurred during this period.
The Economist estimated the deaths in India, the government denied
Meanwhile, The Economist magazine has published a report, in which the death toll from Corona in India was expected to be five to seven times higher than the official figures.
But the government termed this article as speculative, without any basis and misleading. The ministry has said that the study used in the journal to estimate deaths is not a valid tool to find out the mortality rate of any country or region.
