In the first phase, ‘Aadhaar Vault’ will be set up at a cost of `34.32 crore, including related software, hardware and human resources. Permission was granted to the Rebuild Kerala Initiative to grant administrative approval.

There are more than 400 social welfare schemes in the state. Each department has its own procedures for implementing these and selecting beneficiaries. There are a number of issues such as benefiting from multiple schemes, differences in beneficiary information, recurrence, lack of uniformity in data collection due to extraction from multiple sources, and lack of codified information to facilitate accurate decision making. To address this, the Unified Registry is a project to create a unified database of beneficiaries with the family as the basic unit.

Beneficiary selection can be made transparent and effective by eliminating ineligible people from receiving benefits. It also aims to facilitate the implementation of projects to help reduce the impact of natural disasters.

Once the social, economic and demographic information is obtained from a single source, it can be used to select the beneficiaries of all government welfare schemes. This registry can be used as a single source to connect with various assistance schemes and identify beneficiaries.

There will also be a facility to add information of those who are not involved in any government scheme. Each individual and family will be given an identification number. Beneficiary information will be entered into the registry only in accordance with the rules and regulations required by the respective departments.
