14 people from Kerala involved in Kabul airport attack, have links with ISIS-K and Lashkar: Report

One of the 14 Kerala residents associated with ISIS-K had contacted his family members after being released from Bagram jail. The remaining 13 are still in Kabul with ISIS-K.

New Delhi. At least 14 people from Kerala have been reported to be linked to the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISIS-K), responsible for the bomb blast at the Kabul airport. According to the latest information, these people along with ISIS-K terrorists were also involved in carrying out the incident of bomb blast. Their relationship is also being told with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Two days ago, 170 people were killed in suicide bombings outside Kabul airport. Among them were 13 American soldiers.

Two days after the incident of Kabul airport bomb blast, the involvement of citizens of other countries associated with the terrorist organizations responsible for it has also started coming to the fore. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the Taliban had freed 14 Keralites from Bagram Jail. These people are also related to ISIS-K and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

1 out of 14 people from Kerala had contact from home

One of the 14 people in Kerala who were freed from the Bagram prison by the Taliban had contacted the people of his household. While 13 are still in Kabul with the ISIS-K terrorist group. Some people from Malappuram, Kasaragod and Kannur districts of Kerala left India to join the jihadist group of West Asia after the capture of Mosul in Syria and the Levant in 2014. Some of those Keralites migrated to Nangarhar province of Afghanistan and joined ISIS-K.

Due to this, the concern of the Government of India increased

The information about the people of Kerala coming to the fore with ISIS-K has raised the concern of the Government of India. This is because Taliban can use these Keralites to tarnish India’s image in Afghanistan.

Pakistan is waiting for this

At present, the situation in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, remains worrying. Pakistan, backed by the Haqqani network, has been pressuring the Taliban to include some members of the previous government in a 12-member council for the government to be recognized by the international community. However, Afghanistan’s neighbors are waiting for the US and other NATO allies to completely withdraw from the Islamic emirate before taking any decision on the Taliban.
